Retro Bowl for the Stub range
Spring 2019 saw the relaunch of the Stub stacking glass. Grethe Meyer and Ibi Trier Mørch’s iconic Stub design was relaunched in two different sizes – and now there are new additions to this informal yet design-led glass universe. As the name suggests, Stub champagne and dessert bowls are as versatile as their sister-design, evocative of sophisticated retro cocktails and desserts.
In 1958, when the architecturally trained design duo Grethe Meyer and Ibi Trier Mørch created the Stub drinking glass, their desire was to capture the zeitgeist in their design formula. Wine, water, milk, cordial, beer, juice – Stub drinking glasses embrace all mealtime rituals, and this spring’s relaunch of the cylindrical champagne and dessert bowl brings even greater freedom to the versatility of Stub.
True to the DNA of the Stub range, the champagne and dessert bowl is cylindrical and stubby in design, but also has a large, appealing surface that makes the glass ideal for solid or liquid servings, from chia porridge at breakfast, to ice cream, chocolate mousse, classic apple charlotte or elegant trifles. This season’s new Stub product is highly relevant on the bar trolley, too, for sparkling champagne and aperitifs as well as classic after-dinner drinks.
