Here you will find the latest news from Holmegaard
We have been rediscovering Danish design treasures in recent years. Among these is Bodil Kjær, architect and professor, and a cult figure among connoisseurs since the 1960s – but many will make a new and inspiring acquaintance when Holmegaard launches her characteristic Crosses vase this autumn. Bodil Kjær created the Crosses vase in 1961 based on a desire to address functional and aesthetic needs, and the iconic design is just as sharp and relevant today as it was back then. Crosses is being relaunched in three sizes. The colours have had a contemporary makeover and the vase is hand-blown in clear, smoky and transparent green glass.
Crosses vases are available in several individual sizes and colours: Crosses in green glass (H: 19.5 cm), price EUR 67.95 (RRP), Smoked glass Crosses are available in two sizes (H: 12 cm and H: 25 cm) and are priced at EUR 39.95 and 79.95 respectively (RRP), Clear glass Crosses are available in three sizes (H: 12 cm, 19.5 cm and 25 cm) and are priced at EUR 39.95, 67.95 and 79.95 respectively (RRP). These new items will be in shops from early September.
The Scala Storage Jar first saw the light of day 25 years ago. In subsequent years, it has become a real kitchen classic. With its fusion of practicality, technology and aesthetics, this familiar storage concept remains highly relevant. That’s why Scala is making a comeback this autumn in a new, contemporary version reinterpreted by glassware giant Holmegaard. The iconic Storage Jars retain their famous functionality with a patented closure design and practical yet decorative measuring scale moulded into the glass. Today, however, it has taken on a more feminine design – and furthermore the nostalgic glass bottle and the four glass containers are now being complemented by matching water glasses.
The Scala Storage Jar with its sprung handle and grey rubber ring is available in four sizes (2 dl, 0.75 L, 1 L and 2 L), priced at EUR 13.95, EUR 19.95, EUR 22.95 and EUR 27.95 (RRP) respectively. The range also includes a bottle with a spring handle and grey rubber ring (1 L) priced at EUR 19.95 (RRP) as well as drinking glasses (30 cl) priced at EUR 19.95 (RRP) for a set of 2. These new additions will be available in shops from the beginning of September.
Maria Berntsen is one of Denmark’s most renowned designers with a special passion for glass. She has been working with Holmegaard for more than 15 years and is particularly well-known for the Design with Light range, which sheds new light on modern glass design in various ways. These popular lanterns combine glass and butt leather in innovative ways. At the same time, Design with Light is a mobile lighting design that lets you always have candlelight nearby. Maria Berntsen’s signature range is now being extended to include a new version of the lantern. It has been given an evocative, sophisticated look in smoked glass with a black leather strap.
Design with Light lanterns in smoked glass with a black leather strap are available in three sizes (H:16 cm, 25 cm and 29 cm) and cost EUR 59.95, 79.95 and 99.95 (RRP) respectively. Also included in the price is a metal lid, which ensures a stable flame and can be used as needed. These new items will be in shops from early September.
According to the old saying, it’s always time for champagne somewhere in the world, but today the sparkling bubbles are not the only option for tantalising your taste buds when there’s something to celebrate or when everyday life needs brightening. In line with the current wave of gastronomy and sophisticated taste, cocktails are experiencing a massive renaissance right now in city bars and for drinking at home, where we’re experimenting with iconic classics as well as new combinations of flavours. Obviously, then, you have to have all the right equipment. For that reason, Holmegaard is expanding its Cabernet wine collection to include sculptural, Art Deco-inspired cocktail glasses, suitable for either liquid temptations or other delicacies.
The Cabernet Cocktail Glass (29 cl) costs EUR 11.50 (RRP), This new item will be in shops from early September and complements the large selection of glassware for water, wine, champagne and liqueurs already in the Cabernet range.
Christmas cheer indoors and inspiration from the Scandinavian winter wonderland meet each year in Ann-Sofi Romme’s interpretation of Holmegaard’s Christmas. With her four fixed forms – the Christmas Heart, Christmas Star, Christmas Bell and Christmas Bauble – she juggles tradition and innovation, as the collection features a new motif every season. 2017 is no exception: Christmas will be full of enchantment and graphic inspiration from nature. Ann-Sofi Romme has turned her trademark style towards the young miniature cones of the larch tree, sparkling as red and gold motifs on the hand-blown glass hangers and creating an atmosphere of natural glamour anywhere in your home.
This year’s Ann-Sofi Romme glassware collection – the Christmas Heart (H: 7 cm), Christmas Star (H: 8 cm), Christmas Bell (H: 8 cm) and Christmas Cone (H: 7 cm) – are each priced at EUR 13.95 (RRP) and will be in shops from early September.
Just like Holmegaard, Jette Frölich is a veritable institution of Danish design. Especially at Christmas, when each year she merges glass and paper clippings to produce practical industrial design in the Holmegaard Christmas range, accompanying us as we eagerly countdown to Christmas. The joy of anticipation is also the theme of Holmegaard Christmas 2017. Taking inspiration from the Russian fairy tale of Father Frost and Snow Maiden, the collection greets the changing seasons with red and white motifs giving this year’s Christmas a hint of sophisticated folklore on everything from cake platters to tea lights.
