Everyone dreams of a beautiful white Christmas. That must have been at the back of Ann-Sofi Romme’s mind when she created the motif for this year’s Holmegaard Christmas collection. Romme was inspired by the quirky shapes of snowflakes and, for Christmas, paper ornaments and flowers are the main feature of four mouth-blown glass designs: the Bell, the Bauble, the Heart and the Star. In keeping with the current colour trend, the graphic decoration is confined to red and gold with matching red silk cord, ready to hang on the tree, in a window or maybe in the middle of the door as an exquisite designer invitation to mistletoe magic.
The large bell is perfect for decorating a window at Christmas time. It refers to the story behind the Christmas series, which Ann-Sofi Romme started back in 1993 with a Christmas bell for Holmegaard. The bell originates from Ann-Sofi’s earlier glass range, Eclair (1987), in which she developed the shape for a Christmas ornament. It is one of Holmegaard’s Christmas classics, and this year features a special decoration.
